In my opinion, a balanced system is always better than and unbalanced system. When i say “a balanced system”, i means that “moderate quality headunits” + “moderate quality speakers”. For unbalanced system, i means that ‘lousy headunits’ + ‘ lousy amplifier’ + ‘good quality 2 way component speakers’.

Assume that the headunit of the balanced system is “Pioneer DEH-1050E (less than RM300)”, rear speaker is JBL 3 way speaker (~RM250), front speaker is unknown. The rear and front speaker is connected directly to the headunit. Money spent = less than RM550.

Assume that the headunit of a unbalanced system is stock headunit + “cheap amp (RM300)” + front speaker -”soundstream XSC.6 (~RM500)” + stock rear speaker. Money spent = “around RM800″. The front speaker is connected through the amp and the rear speaker is connected directly to the headunit. The Left channel and Right channel of the amp is connected to front left channel of headunit (This stupid connection is done by inexperienced technician to cheat inexperienced user, because of this connection, there is no stereo effect).

For those two systems above, which system do you think will sound better, definitely is the balanced system eventhrough less money is spent.

The soundstream component speaker installed on the unbalanced system describe above is such a waste, the speaker cant show its full potential and good source quality due to poor quality source (headunit with low SNR) and poor quality amp (output with high THD).

The scenario of the unbalanced system is like connecting a sennheiser HD650( audiophile headphone) to a mp3 player. A good pair of headphones will require a high quality headphones amplifier and good source to sounds good.

So, be wise when selecting the components, dont blame that the speakers is not good when you are pairing the good speakers with poor quality headunit and amp, people will laugh at you.

Yesterday (31 July) I went to Swinburne to enroll the subjects I will be taking in the next coming semester.

When my friends and I arrived there, we were shocked that there too many students waiting for enrollment. The lobby was crowded by students. Students who want to go to the toilet experienced difficulties because the way were blocked by students who were queuing up, waiting for their turns to enroll. Students were required to take number before they can enter the auditorium to enroll. First, students will need to fill in the enrollment form. Then queue up, then let the subject coordinator to sign the form, then pass the form to the enrolling officer.
I took me nearly 2 hours to complete the enrollment process. The enrollment system really sucks! I hope that there will be some improvement on the next year.
I suggest that there split the queue into 2 groups. One for students who does not have question to ask the subject coordinators, and one for students who had questions to ask, so that students who had no questions to ask (me and my friends) get the enrollment form signed as soon as possible and pass the form to the enrollment officer. This will speed up the process and avoid too many students queuing for a long time just to pass up the enrollment.
There is one thing which Swinburne is very efficient at doing it, that is printing the INVOICE and stating the students must pay their fees within a week. If not, their name will be dropped and their will require to enroll one more time.

See the table of the Average Annual Salary by Years of Experience (U.S. Dollar).
The salaries of working in Malaysia for more than 10 years is even lower than salaries of working in Singapore for less than 5 years. What a huge differences.

When you go to swinburne, i will see that there are at least 5 guards. I don’t really know the real numbers. What is the purpose of hiring so many guard?

Some of you might think that it is very safe to park your car inside swinburne compound. Thats not true. YOU PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK. Swinburne’s management will not bear any responsible if something happen to your car. Your car windows might get smash even though you park at the area which have guards. What is the purpose of hiring so many guards if they cant make sure that our cars are safe?

The other thing is that your car might be hit or scratch by newbie drivers. So beware!!

IF you park your car outside swinburne’s compound, that’s even worst. You car might get stolen!!!

My advice are:

1) Never put your bags inside your car when you are away. You should put it inside your car boot.

2) Park inside swinburne’s compound.

3) Its better to use old CD-player or cassette player so that you don’t lure those thieves to smash your windows and steal your players.

THE ABOVE INFORMATION MIGHT NOT BE TRUE.

Every time when my friend invite me go out, i ask him to keep a promise first. I asked him to send me home at 11pm. Before he fetch me, he promised me.

I think that he had promised me more than five times! The sad thing is every time I go out limteh with him and his friends, he never keep his promise. Not even once!

Now i had lost trust in him. I know that every condition that he promise was fake. Its like Swinburne’s management. They put a notice on 28 February 2007, saying that the lift will be ready in 2 weeks time. Thats bullshit. After 2 weeks, the lift is not ready yet, so we wait. Wait, wait wait……………….and now its 26 April already!! The lift is not ready yet.

Another thing, the management staff said that the road near CMM hostel will be ready for use at 27 February. Until now, the road is not ready for use yet. Why would they want to put a fake notice if they cant make it on time? Might as well don’t say anything. We won’t blame them if they didn’t say anything.

There is only one thing, in my opinion, which Swinburne is very efficient at doing it. Thats receive course fee from students. They printed an invoice on the day students enroll their subject. Behind the invoice, they clipped a red A4 paper. On the paper, its said that students will auto-drop from the subjects they enroll if they don’t pay their course fee after one week they enroll the subjects. Such a money face university.

This few days, i felt lazy to update my blog.

The first reason is because i cant transfer image from my phone to my PC. My blog looks dull and boring campare to KH’s blog which is full of pictures.

The second reason is my English is not very good. It you had read my previous blog, u will found out the there are many grammar mistakes inside. Besides that, my vocabulary is limited. I don’t know how to use bombastic and not good at using adjectives. Compare the 2 blogs below and you will understand what i mean.

http://www.bitsofbytes.org/archives/2007/04/15/april-15.htm

http://justin.bitsofbytes.org/archives/2007/04/16/15-april.htm

It is very obvious that TCT’s blog was more interesting than my blog even though both of us wrote about the same thing.

Today, my friends and I go star cineplex to watch a movie named “Just follow law”. Its a Singapore comedy movie. From this movie, i have learned 2 things. This movie taught us to believe in our own ideas even though someone might think that it is stupid. Who knows one day someone will appreciate our ideas and think that it is a good idea. Usually those who are successful in life will have wild ideas and dreams which most people will think that it is crazy and impossible to reach it.

Second thing i learned. Laws are created by humans, sometimes it might be appropriate for us to break the laws at the right time.
