The physics of racing (smoothness)
Most people think that they can drive fast around corners or straight roads if they wind their steering wheel fast enough, step on the accelerate fast enough or even step the brakes fast enough. This idea is totally WRONG! They will only get slower if they do so. This is because their cars will lose traction easily when they drive it hard. How we feel (imagine what happens when the driver suddenly step on the brake hard) is how the car will reaction. If we feel very uncomfortable when steping the brake pedal hard and the also wind the steering fast, the car will feel( how the car reaction) as we do.

lose traction = skidding and skid = lose control and speed
(this concept does not include drifting because drifting is another type of racing not focusing on speed)

Drifting is just used to entertain the spectators.
